Alright, folks, now that I've seen some interest from some folks beyond the Basic Open Water Course, here's my price list for all courses (please note changes marked in red):
Basic Open Water: $325 per person (group) or $450 (private 1-on-1 or special schedule). This includes training manual, DVD, dive tables, log book and rental of BC, regulator, tanks and weights. Students accomplish self-study of manual, completing all Knowledge Reviews prior to the Thursday of the actual course. Thursday evening is an academics review where we go through the answers in the Student book and take quizzes on the first four sections. Friday evening is dive table study and final test. Saturday and Sunday are Confined Water and Open Water dives. If the Private Instruction option is chosen and cannot be done over a weekend (due to student schedule issues) a price can be negotiated for non-standard private course.
Advanced Open Water: $225 (group) or $300 (private). This includes training manual, DVD and navigation wheel. Add $50 for use of BC, regulator, tanks and weights. Students accomplish self-study of manual, completing all applicable Knowledge Reviews prior to the Friday of the actual course. Friday evening is an academics review and navigation review. Saturday will be a drift dive, deep dive and night dive. Sunday will be the navigation dive and wreck dive.
Rescue Diver: $225 (must have 2 or more students). Course includes training manual, DVD. Use of BC, regulator, tanks and weights add $50. This course is more physically demanding, requiring repeated ascents/descents, carrying of "victims" and other challenges.
Dive Master: $550. Prerequisites are that you be a at least 18 years of age, a certified Rescue Diver and be CPR/EFR trained (current within last 2 years). You must also have a current diving medical current within last 12 months and proof of at least 20 logged dives (must have at least 60 logged dives prior to certification). The course consists of three phases: Personal watermanship and scuba skills development;
Knowledge Development: expand your knowledge of diving theory and practice; Practical application: assists Instructors and Divemasters in teaching dive classes and in supervising groups of divers. This course includes the following training materials:
Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving
Discover Scuba Cue Card
Diving Knowledge Workbook
Divemaster-led programs CD
Divemaster Manual
4 Divemaster slates
Student Application Package
Divemaster embroidered emblem
PADI Pro canvas brief case
The PADI DM course involves much more academic work and more stringent physical requirements. It also involves some internship, working with classes to gain experience working with new and certified divers. This is the first of the professional level dive certifications.
REFERRAL DIVES If you have completed your academic requirements (including passing the exam) either with another instructor or online with PADI then I can complete your certification in what's known as a Referral. Bring your referral documentation, which will typically be some printouts from the online course, or a folder and PIC form/envelope from your previous instructor. If I need to facilitate both your pool work and open water work, the cost is $200. If it's just open water dives, the cost is $150.
